To all Referee Assignors for the SCDSL:
Thank you for getting all of the games covered this past weekend! Your efforts are truly appreciated and I'm amazed how you all juggle the games, fields, refs and schedules that you do!
There were a few things brought to my attention after this past weekend that I wanted to bring to your attention so you could maybe send reminders to the referees for this upcoming weekend.
1. All player and coach cards MUST be from the 2019/2020 season from CAL SOUTH. No US Club or ECNL player cards are accepted in the SCDSL.
2. The SCDSL DOES accept photos for coach and player cards as long as they are from the 19/20 season.
3. All referees SHOULD be checking player cards before EVERY game. I found out there were some players playing without any type of registration or player card but because some referees weren't checking player cards the players were allowed to play. I'll deal with the clubs on this but the referees MUST check the player cards against the Game Report for EVERY TEAM prior to EVERY GAME. We can't brush this off. It's very important.
4. Both teams on the Game Report MUST have rosters that include jersey numbers on the Game Report. I'm sending a reminder email about this to the teams but if any referee is given a Game Report that is not complete, the manager of the team that has the incomplete roster gets the honor of hand-writing the full roster (including jersey numbers) on all 3 copies of the Game Report. This isn't optional either.
5. The SCDSL does NOT accept the "F" license. ANY ONE coaching during a SCDSL game MUST have a coaching license which can include the new coaching module licensing for the 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 modules. An "E" license and above is acceptable but NO "F" license is.
I appreciate your assistance in reminding your referees of these policies.
If anyone has any questions, please let me know.
Thank you!
Michelle
