Instructions for Coordinators
You will receive the referee assignments for your fields. This list is private and confidential and not to be shared with anyone else.
1. Take a screenshot or print out the Tournament Rules, Referee Assignments and Tournament Schedule. (Know the game durations)
2. If a referee has not checked in with you 20 minutes before game time please call them.
3. Make sure the games start and end on time. Make sure the teams have checked in with the tournament staff at least 15 minutes before game time.
4. Come ready to referee, make yourself available if there is a no-show.
5. Help with safety checks, pregames, and admin. Many of the tournament staff will be new volunteers, treat them kindly and assist them if you can.
6. Complete an incident report for any referees who are late (arriving 15 min or less before game time) or who are no-shows.
7. Keep track of any assignment changes that will affect payments and email them to the assignor.
8. Complete observations and ratings for all new members or those that request higher level games.
9. Knockout Games: Make sure to check if there is overtime. On finals, please make sure to have the referees do the Championship Walk On.
10. Misconduct Report Protocol:
- The referee will note misconduct on the match report.
- The referee will pull the offender's CalSouth ID Card for violent conduct, abuse, or assault.
- The referee will complete a CalSouth or USSF Misconduct Report and Supplemental at the field.
- The referee will complete an Online NOCRA Misconduct Report on Game Day.
- After these steps take place, the NOCRA Vice President will advise the referee on further action.
Tournament Staff
Tournament staff are usually volunteers, so let's make sure we contribute to a good experience.

- Introduce yourself, give them your phone number just in case they need you.
- Find out how they will be doing check-in. Let's help make sure all the teams are checked in no later than 15 mins before kickoff.
- Team warm-up: ask that teams not to warm up on the field between games, we want to keep the games on time.
- Spectators: request that spectators are on the proper side of the field and at least 2 yards (6 feet) from the touch line, including umbrellas. It is for the safety of the players, spectators, and referees.
- If a coach, manager, or parent has a complaint have the Tournament Staff ask them to write down the date, field, game starting time, what happened, and their name and phone number.
- Game (Score) Cards: make sure they are filled out correctly before giving them to the Tournament Staff.
