CITY OF IRVINE (11v11) RULES SUMMARY​

  • 11v11 leagues will play 40-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime. ​
  • Substitutions are permitted on any deadball.​
  • A player(s) who receives a yellow card must leave the field for 5 minutes. The player may be substituted for but it is not required to replace the player(s) who received a yellow card. If the team elects to not replace the player(s) they will play down a player.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES (11v11)

  1. Prior to every game please check-in each player. They must have a City of Irvine Soccer ID card to be eligible to play. IF THEY DON'T HAVE AN ID, THE WILL NOT PLAY!
  2. If a player is not listed on the roster and it is prior to the seventh game of the season, please add those player(s) to the score sheet. 
  3. After the seventh game (as indicated on the score sheet), players are not allowed to be added. If they are not on the roster, they are not eligible to play. 
  4. Scoresheet are to be picked up and returned to the Park Staff.

CITY OF IRVINE (7V7) RULES SUMMARY

  • There will be no offside.
  • 7v7 leagues will play 25-minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
  • Goal kicks will be taken from any part of the goal line.
  • Kick-ins are acceptable. If teams chose to "kick-in" they cannot score directly from this action and is considered an Indirect Free Kick.
  • No-Go Zone: Players may not enter the no-go zone, including the imaginary plan extending above the zone. The no-go zone extends approximately 8 feet from the goal mouth and is approximately 14 feet wide. This zone will be a clearly marked arc.
    • If defensive players violate this rule during active play when the ball is near the no-go zone or being shot on goal, the offensive team will be awarded a penalty kick, which will be taken from midfield with no defense. The kicker can be anyone on the field of play when the foul is called.
    • If a defensive player enters the no-go zone at other times that affect the play of the offence (for example, crossing through the zone to challenge an attacker with the ball far from the zone), the attacking team will be awarded an indirect free kick 6 years out from the front of the no-go zone.
    • If an offensive player violates this rule, the defense will be awarded a goal kick.
    • Incidental encroachment of the no-go zone shall not be a penalized if it does not directly affect the play of the ball or affect a goal scoring opportunity.
    • If the ball comes to a stop in the no-go zone, it will be a goal kick
  • All fouls will result in an indirect free kick. Defenders must remain six (6) yards from the ball on all free kicks.
  • Goals may be scored on a kick-off, a corner kick and a goal kick.
  • SLIDE TACKLING IS NOT PERMITTED.
  • For a 7 person coed team the following ratio of male to female are acceptable: 4 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 2, 3 to 3, 2 to 3, 3 to 2.
  • There must be 5 players present in order to start the game. If 5 players do not show up within 5 minutes of game time, that team will forfeit.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES (7V7)

  1. Prior to every game, pick up the scorecards from the park staff and check each player's City of Irvine Soccer ID Card. Each player also must sign the scoresheet.
  2. Scoresheet are to be picked up and returned to the Park Staff.

referee & assignments

  • All games will be paid by Arbiter Pay. DO NOT ask the teams for any game fees.

GAME CARDS & ​MISCONDUCT

  1. Completed Game Cards are to be turned in at the staff at the facility.
  2.  A NOCRA misconduct report must be filled out when you have a red card:
    1. Take a picture of the completed game cards (both sides) to help you fill out the information to the best of your abilities. 
    2. An injury occurs that results in a player being removed from the game and cannot return due to the injury. 
    3. A dismissal of a player, coach, or spectator occurs.
    4. Complete the Red Card report by 2 PM the next day.
    5. Keep ALL ID Cards of players who have been ejected and turn them into the Park Staff on site.

  • It is YOUR responsibility to check the OFFICIAL LEAGUE SCHEDULE (NOT Arbiter) before leaving for your games.

​Forfeits & Reimbursements

REIMBURSEMENTS WILL ONLY BE GIVEN FOR GAME DAY FORFEITS
  • Complete an Incident Report to be reimbursed.
  • If the game is not on the Official Schedule your reimbursement will be denied.​
  • All games have ONLY a 5-minute grace period before being considered a forfeit.
